The Challenge

Bishop Auckland College wanted to ensure new students began their college journey with the skills, mindset, and structure needed to succeed. With learners arriving from a wide range of backgrounds and courses, the College recognised the importance of addressing common challenges early — particularly around time management, personal effectiveness, and proactive wellbeing — to support engagement, retention, and academic success from the outset.

The Approach

We partnered with the College to embed a series of full-day workshops and coaching sessions directly into orientation week. By engaging students before academic pressures increased, the programme focused on helping learners build strong foundations early, understand expectations, and take ownership of their time, wellbeing, and learning experience.
